5U - Blast Ball 2024/2025 Season - For players in born in 2020
*Please note that in RMMBA, our new season starts in September with Fall Ball and ends with our Summer programs. Summer ball is for ages 8U and older only and runs from late June to early August.
Equipment Required:
We highly recommend going to MVP Athletic Supplies for all your equipment needs. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and just across the bridge in Langley.
General Information about Blast Ball:
Blast Ball is focused on the FUNdamentals of baseball. Every player gets a chance to field all positions and bat everywhere in the line up. We focus on learning the skills of the game, while having fun and being part of a team environment.
Players hit off the tee and can only run one base at a time. We use a softer ball for safety, so all kids can learn to throw and receive without developing a fear of the ball.
Programs:
Fall Ball - First week of September until mid October (approximately 7 weeks)
Winter After School Program - November to March (Two 7-week terms)
Spring Ball - Early April to Mid June (approximately 10 weeks)
Important Spring Dates:
PLEASE READ THIS PART CAREFULLY:
The Spring Blastball season requires parent participation. Teams have coaches, but we also need parents to help these energy-filled small humans navigate their practices and games. We need parents to play catch with their child, and a few parents per night to help point the players in the right direction when running bases or keep players in line while they wait their turn at a practice station or while up to bat. Spring is a huge season for RMMBA and requires as many volunteers as possible to make it run smoothly.
During your SPRING registration process, you will get the choice to either:
We will hold coaches’ clinics for those that can commit to coaching. But coaches need to focus on coaching, so parent participation is crucial. It's a very small amount of work if we all do our part, but a huge job if it all falls on the coach! There are also plenty of opportunities to volunteer on an association level at events and tournaments we host. For example, we always need extra hands at Opening Ceremonies, Picture Day, league tournaments (Rumble in the RIDGE!!!), so please consider volunteering!
Volunteer/parent participation hours will be tracked by your team's manager. In Blastball if you play catch on practice/game nights and help out a handful of times throughout the season you should meet your point requirements.
We look forward to seeing you all on the field!
